Feat on the Street covers races, routes and running around Denver. Two things this page needs to say.
Altitude, ozone, and what we are not
A mile up, the same effort costs more. Add a summer ozone alert or a July afternoon and it costs more again. We can describe that. We cannot tell you what it means for your lungs or your heart, because nobody writing a running blog is qualified to.
Talk to a physician before you start training here or step it up, and make that conversation a priority if you have asthma or another lung condition, a heart condition, or you have just moved up from sea level. Ask specifically what air quality readings should keep you indoors. The number that is fine for one runner is not fine for another.
Stop the run and get help for chest pain or tightness, breathing that will not settle once you slow down, an uneven heartbeat, confusion or faintness. Severe symptoms mean calling 911 rather than driving.
Race and route listings
Dates move. Start times move. Courses get rerouted, fees change, and events are canceled for weather more often here than most places. We update listings when we notice, but the organizer’s own page decides, so check it before you register and again before you drive out.
Route descriptions are written from public information and our reading of it. Trail surfaces, closures and construction change without telling us.
Accuracy
We fix errors when they are pointed out. Nothing here is warranted complete or current, and how you train, where you run and what you enter is your decision and your risk.
Links
Some pages send you to organizers, agencies and other writers. They run their own sites under their own terms.
